In 1996, the Source of Light Discipleship Training Branch started with 17 Associate Schools. Daniel Sappor was appointed as the National Director, serving under a National Board of Directors. In 2003, SLM-Ghana moved into its permanent National Office at number 4 New Sempe High Street, New Mamprobi-Banana Inn, ACCRA. That same year the Northern Sector Office was officially opened in Tamale to serve the three Northern Regions. In 2005, a 10-acre plot was purchased for an Office Complex, Christian Missionary School, and Campground. The work now has several full-time and volunteer staff that grade Bible Lessons, Counsel Students, help with various Outreach Ministries, and Care for Administrative Duties, including serving over 150 Associate Schools. We have 4 full-time and three part-time workers in the Accra Office, and two full-time and 1 part-time staff in Tamale.
How It Started
Source of Light Bible Study Courses was first brought into Ghana by missionaries in the early 1960’s. They used these materials in Evangelism, Discipleship, and Church-planting.
The Courses gained wider distribution through National Pastors,Eevangelists, and Missionaries.
They were used in Churches, Schools, Prisons, and in most settings for Evangelism, Follow-up, and Discipleship & Leadership Training.
